Dance India Dance (DID) is one of India’s popular Hindi dance reality television shows in India. It airs on the Hindi entertainment channel Zee TV and is produced by Essel Vision Productions. The show first premiered on 30th January 2009. Dance India Dance is a remake of the Bengali show Dance Bangla Dance which premiered in the year 2007.
Dance India Dance showcases dancers from multiple styles like classical, Bollywood, contemporary, folk, hip-hop, jazz and more. Contestants are picked through auditions across India. The final 18 compete in solo, duet and group performances. Judges evaluate the contestants alongside audience votes.

Dance India Dance Season 1 Winner – Salman Yusuff Khan
Dance India Dance kicked off on 30th January 2009 and the grand finale was held on 30th May 2009. The first season had a run of 35 episodes. Actor Mithun Chakraborty was the head judge. Other judges were choreographers Geeta Kapoor, Terence Lewis and Remo D’ Souza. The show was presented by Jay Bhanushali and Saumya Tandon.
The top 18 contestants were divided into Remo Ke Rangeelay, Terence Ki Toli and Geeta Ki Gang. Salman Yusuff Khan from Remo Ke Rangeelay won the first season. Alisha Singh from Terence Ki Toli was the first runner up.
Dance India Dance Season 2 Winner – Shakti Mohan
Dance India Dance Season 2 first premiered on 18th December 2009, with the final episode airing on 23rd April 2010. 37 episodes were broadcasted through the course of this season. Mithun Chakraborty remained the head judge, while Geeta Kapoor, Terence Lewis and Remo D’ Souza continued as other three judges. Jay Bhanushali and Saumya Tandon hosted the show again.
Top 21 contestants in this season were divided into Remo Ke Rangeelay, Terence Ki Toli and Geeta Ki Gang. Shakti Mohan from Terence Ki Toli was crowned winner in a grand finale. Dharmesh Yelande from Geeta Ki Gang finished as the first runner up.
Dance India Dance Season 3 Winner – Rajasmita Kar
Dance India Dance Season 3 was first aired on 24th December 2011. The finale was held on 21st April 2012. Number of episodes in this season was 35. Mithun Chakraborty was the head judge again, with Geeta Kapoor, Terence Lewis and Remo D’ Souza as the other three judges. Jay Bhanushali and Saumya Tandon hosted this season as well.
Top 18 contestants in this season were divided into Terence Ki Toli, Geeta Ki Gang and Remo Ke Rangeelay. Rajasmita Kar from Geeta Ki Gang won the title. Pradeep Gurung from Terence Ki Toli was the second runner up.
Dance India Dance Season 4 Winner – Shyam Yadav
Fourth season of Dance India Dance first premiered on 26th October 2013, with the final episode airing on 22nd February 2014. 34 episodes were telecasted through the course of this season. While Mithun Chakraborty continued as the head judge, other three judges for the first three seasons were replaced by Mudassar Khan, Feroz Khan and Shruti Merchant. Jay Bhanushali was joined by Ishita Sharma as the host, replacing Saumya Tandon.
Top 11 contestants in this season were grouped under Mudassar Ki Mandali, Shruti Ke Shandar and Feroz Ki Fauj. Shyam Yadav from Mudassar Ki Mandali was crowned the winner of season 4. Manan Sachdeva from Shruti Ke Shandar finished as the first runner up.
Dance India Dance Season 5 Winner – Proneeta Swargiary
Dance India Dance Season 5 commenced on 27th June 2015 and ended on 10th October 2015. A total of 31 episodes were aired in this season. Mithun Chakraborty was the head judge for this season as well. However, while Mudassar Khan continued as a judge, Feroz Khan and Shruti Merchant were replaced by Puneet Pathak and Gaiti Siddique. Jay Bhanushali hosted the show.
Top 15 contestants competed under Mudassar Ki Mandali, Puneet Ke Panthers and Gaiti Ke Gangsters. Proneeta Swargiary from Puneet Ke Panthers won the title. First runner up for this season was Nirmal Tamang from Gaiti Ke Gangsters.
Dance India Dance Season 6 Winner – Sanket Gaonkar
Sixth season of Dance India Dance was first aired on 4th November 2017. The grand finale was held on 18th February 2018. Number of episodes aired through the course of this season was 31. Mithun Chakraborty continued as the head judge. Mudassar Khan was joined by Marzi Pestonji and Mini Pradhan as the other judges. Hosts for this season were Amruta Khanvilkar and Sahil Khattar.
Top 20 contestants were grouped under Mudassar Ki Mandali, Marzi Ke Mastane and Mini Ke Masterblasters. Sanket Gaonkar from Mini Ke Masterblasters emerged as the winner. Sachin Sharma from Marzi Ke Mastane finished as the first runner up.
Dance India Dance Season 7 Winner – Unreal Crew
Seventh season of Dance India Dance first premiered on 22nd June 2019. The grand finale was held on 29th September 2019. Titled “Battle Of The Champions”, this season involved competition between various dance groups. 30 episodes were aired through the course of this season. Judges for this season were Kareena Kapoor, Bosco Martis and Dilin Nair aka Raftaar. The show was hosted by Karan Wahi.
Unreal Crew was crowned the winner of DID season 7. I Am Hip Hop finished as the first runner up.
