Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ) is one of India’s most popular celebrity dance reality shows. It is an Indian adaptation of the British reality television series, Strictly Come Dancing, and is a part of the Dancing with the Stars franchise. The show’s format involves celebrities paired with professional choreographers, with the couples performing dance moves to win judges’ points and audience votes. Each couple is eliminated every week, with the last surviving couple crowned winner.
The show has completed 11 seasons till date. First four seasons were aired on Sony Entertainment Television, while the next six seasons were aired on Colors TV. Eleventh season of the show shifted back to Sony Entertainment Television. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is produced by BBC Studios India.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa first hit the small screens on 7th September 2006, with the final episode airing on 4th November 2006. Season 1 lasted for 20 episodes. The judges for this season were filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, film director and choreographer Farah Khan and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. This season was hosted by Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi.

Mona Singh and Rohit Roy appeared the hosts.

Judges for this season were choreographer Saroj Khan, Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla and choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant. The show was hosted by the trio of Shweta Tiwari, Rohit Roy and Shiv Panditt.

The panel of judges changed, with singer and choreographer Ganesh Hegde, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and American actress Lauren Gottlieb replacing Madhuri Dixit and Remo D’ Souza. Karan Johar initially continued as a judge but was later replaced by Malaika Arora. Manish Paul hosted the show.

Ganesh Hegde continued as a judge, while actress Jacqueline Fernandez was introduced as a new judge. The show was hosted yet again by Manish Paul.
18 celebrity-choreographer pairs featured in this season. Audience voting was done away for this season, with evictions based on judges’ scores and live studio audience scores. However, audience voting was allowed for semi-finale. Nepalese dancer Teriya Magar and her professional partner Arya Patra won the season. Number of episodes in this season was 26. Karan Johar and Madhuri Dixit returned as judges while Canadian dancer/actress Nora Fatehi and Terence Lewis were introduced as new judges. Manish Paul and Arjun Bijlani hosted the show.
