Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs is a popular Indian Hindi-language singing television reality show for children aged 4-14. It is a spin-off of India’s oldest running television reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. The show focuses on young talents who showcase their vocal skills. Renowned personalities from the music industry appear as judges. The contestants are judged on the basis of their voice quality, singing talent and versatility in performance.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 1 Winner- Sanchita Bhattacharya
The inaugural season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs commenced on 8th July 2006. Judges for the opening season of the series were playback singers Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Alka Yagnik, alongside music composer Bappi Lahiri. The show was hosted by the popular playback singer Shaan.
Sanchita Bhattacharya won the inaugural season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs. She was aged 14 back then and remains the oldest winner of this show till date.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 2 Winner- Anamika Choudhari
Sa Re Ga L’il Champs International or Season 2 was first aired on 19th October 2007. The finale was held on 1st March 2008. Auditions for this season took place both in India and abroad. Overseas locations where the auditions were held included USA, New Zealand, Dubai, UK, South Africa and Singapore.
The panel of judges was changed, with playback singers Suresh Wadkar and Sonu Nigam replacing Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik and Bappi Lahiri. Singer and anchor Aditya Narayan replaced Shaan as the host.
28 contestants cleared the audition rounds to compete in the elimination rounds. Anamika Choudhari was declared winner in a grand finale. Rohanpreet Singh finished as the runner up.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 3 Winner- Hemant Brijwasi
Third season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs began on 5th June 2009 and concluded on 24th October 2009. The theme for third season was Jeetenge World, Boys Ya Girls. Playback singers Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Alka Yagnik returned as judges for the season. The show was hosted by two kids, Afsha Musani and Dhairya Sorecha.
This season featured 12 top contestants, comprising of 6 boys and 6 girls. Abhijeet Bhattacharya was the boys’ mentor while Alka Yagnik was the girls’ mentor. Winner of the season was Hemant Brijwasi. The runner up position was secured by Yatharth Ratnum Rastogi.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 4 Winner- Azmat Hussain
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 4 first premiered on 3rd June 2011. The theme for this season was Music Ka Gurukul. Judges for this season were playback singers Adnan Sami, Kailash Kher and Javed Ali, who replaced Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Alka Yagnik. The show was hosted by actor Jay Soni.
Top 18 contestants, comprising of 9 girls and 9 boys, competed for the title. Azmat Hussain was crowned winner in a grand finale. He later became a contestant in India Idol Season 11. Salman Ali finished as the runner up. He later won Indian Idol Season 10.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 5 Winner- Gagan Gaonkar
Fifth season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs commenced on 27th December 2014 and concluded on 21st March 2015. Alka Yagnik was the Mahaguru, while the judges were singers Shaan and Monali Thakur. Aditya Narayan returned as the host for this season.
Top 12 contestants were divided into 6 girls and 6 boys. Shaan was the captain of the boys’ team, while Monali Thakur led the girls’ team. Gagan Gaonkar was crowned winner in a grand finale. Keshav Tyohar was the runner up.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 6 Winner- Shreyan Bhattacharya and Anjali Gaikwad
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 6 was first aired on 25th February 2017, with the final episode airing on 29th October 2017. 69 episodes were telecasted in the season. Theme for this season was Suron Ka Dangal. Judges for this season were singers, Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar and Javed Ali.
Apart from judges, a 30-member grand jury, made of music experts, assessed the contestants and helped the judges in the selection process. The show was hosted yet again by Aditya Narayan.
Top 14 contestants faced off to win the title. Shreyan Bhattacharya and Anjali Gaikwad were declared joint winners in a grand finale held at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Sonakshi Kar finished as the runner up.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 7 Winner- Sugandha Date
Seventh season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs commenced on 9th February 2019 and concluded on 9th June 2019. The number of episodes aired in this season was 35. The panel of judges for this season comprised of playback singers Shaan and Richa Sharma, along with music composer Amaal Malik. A 30-member grand jury complemented the judges. The show was hosted by model and actor Ravi Dubey.
Format of the show required a contestant to seek the approval of at least 2 of the 3 judges and 50% of the grand jury to advance to the next round. In the gala round, the judges selected a “Student of the Week”, based on performance. That particular contestant got immunity from next week’s elimination.
Top 16 contestants made it to the elimination rounds, with 7 contestants making it to the finale. Sugandha Date emerged as the winner of season 7. Mohammad Faiz was the runner up.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 8 Winner- Aryananda R Babu
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 8 first premiered on 29th February 2020. The grand finale was broadcasted on 11th October 2020. 35 episodes were aired through the course of the season. Initially, playback singers Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu appeared as judges. However, Narayan and Sanu were later replaced by playback singers Javed Ali and Himesh Reshammiya. A grand jury of 30 members was a part of this season as well. The show was hosted by actor and anchor Manish Paul.
Top 15 contestants entered the elimination rounds. 7 contestants made it to the grand finale. Aryananda R Babu was declared the title winner of season 8. Ranita Banerjee finished as the runner up.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 9 Winner- Jetshen Dohna Lama
Ninth season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs got underway on 15th October 2022. The final episode premiered on 22nd January 2023. This season had a run of 30 episodes. Judges for this season were music composer Anu Malik, playback singer Neeti Mohan and singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan. The show was hosted by comedian Bharti Singh.
Open auditions involving around 2000 candidates were held in five Indian cities. 13 contestants competed in the elimination rounds. Jetshen Dohna Lama was crowned winner of season 9. Harsh Sikandar was the runner up.

No new season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs has premiered for a period of over two years. Moreover, there are no reports regarding a potential tenth season. However, the show’s Tamil version is active.
