Plot Summary of Bidaai
The story begins with Genda and his wife Chameli. Chameli refuses to return to her husband’s home after marriage. She accuses Genda of being impotent in front of the whole village. This claim spreads fast and damages Genda’s respect in society.
To solve the matter the village Panchayat orders a medical test to prove Genda’s manhood. Genda stays with his in-laws house while he waits for the result. During this time period, many women in the house and village begin to show an interest in him. They try to use him for their own desires.
Genda wants only one thing. He wants his wife Chameli back and to clear his name. However, Chameli stays strong and refuses to take him back. The story gets darker, more complex with the emotions, lusts, and pride.
Season 2 includes the addition of a wedding track in Chameli’s family. Genda refuses to attend initially. Female family members attempt to persuade him, one way or another. The show reveals the ways in which society accepts male weakness and how rumors can ruin a person’s life.
