Plot Summary of Imli
Imli and Raju leave their village and go to the city to fulfill their dream of becoming a dancer. They think that the city will make them famous and earn them money. Their plan comes crashing to the ground when the police arrest Raju soon after their arrival. Imli finds herself alone in a strange place all of the sudden.
Several men attempt to abuse her situation. They make promises of jobs and movie roles, but all they want is to trap her. Imli does not have an easy time surviving without money or support. During this difficult time, she meets Gulaab Chacha who is a vendor on the street who gives her food and a shelter to stay.
Imli is still pursuing her dream of becoming a film heroine. She then meets a man who says he can help her to get a role with a South Indian star. The story then takes a serious turn. Imli has to decide whether she should trust him or run away from another danger. The series shows the way in which the city tests her courage and strength at every step.
