No, Harry Potter movies are not real stories but based on fictional novels written by the famous author, J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter is a series of eight fantasy films produced and distributed by Warner Brothers Pictures. The series began with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone, released in 2001, and culminated with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2, released in 2011. The series features Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grant and Emma Watson as the three lead characters.

Harry Potter series is entirely a product of imagination. It features magic, wizards, Hogwarts School and characters that are imaginary and do not exist in reality. Rowling has clarified multiple times that the plot is invented and the magic, as depicted in the books and movies, does not exist.

Phoenix and Unicorns appear the Harry Potter series. Rowling did not invent them. Such mythical creatures have long been a part of folklore and legends. Their mentions can be found in medieval books and manuscripts.

Mandrakes appear in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”. They are depicted as plants that are used to calm petrified individuals. Mandrakes exist in ancient folklore where they are described as plants having hallucinogenic and narcotic effects.

Nicholas Flamel is the only character in the series whose name appears in the history. He was a French scholar and bookseller who lived in the 14th century. Flamel was rumoured to be an alchemist who was seeking the Philosopher’s Stone.
