Bigg Boss Malayalam Winners List of all Seasons [1 to 7]

Bigg Boss Malayalam is the Malayalam language version of the hugely popular television series franchise, Bigg Boss. Adapted from the original Dutch format, Big Brother, it is produced by Endemol Shine India. The show was first premiered on Asianet and streamed on JioHotStar in June 2018. Till date, it has completed 7 seasons. However, the second season was suspended midway due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Bigg Boss Malayalam has been hosted by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal right from its inception, adding significant star power and appeal. The show features a mix of celebrities, influencers and commoners. It has come to be associated high drama, strategic gameplay, controversies and emotional moments.

Opening season of Bigg Boss Malayalam commenced on 24th June 2018 and ended on 30th September 2018, with a total runtime of 99 episodes. The inaugural season introduced the format to Malayalam audience. There were a total of 18 contestants, featuring a mix of film stars, television personalities, musicians and hosts.

Bigg Boss season 1 was won by actor and television host, Sabumon Abdusamad. He was widely praised for his straightforward and unapologetic style. Abdusamad bagged a prize money of INR 1 crore. The opening season of the show was hosted by Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2 Winner – N/A

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2 commenced on 5th January 2020 but had to be abruptly ended due to Covid-19 pandemic. The second season lasted for 76 episodes till 20th March 2020. There were a total of 23 housemates in this season. A major controversy erupted in the show when a contestant Rajith Kumar rubbed chilli paste into the eyes of a co-contestant Reshma. Kumar was subsequently expelled from the show. Mohanlal continued as the host in this season.

Since the season ended prematurely, no winner was declared.

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 3 first premiered on 14th February 2021 and ended on 1st August 2021. It ran for a total of 97 episodes and featured 18 housemates. This season was also hosted by superstar Mohanlal. Winner of season 3 was the Malayalam film star Thomas James, popularly known as Manikuttan. He won a prize money of INR 75 lakh.

Season 3 had its share of controversy when two wildcard entrants, Sajina and Firoz Khan, passed certain objectionable comments against women and were expelled from the show.

It featured 20 housemates facing the challenge of spending 98 days in the Bigg Boss house. Winner of this season was television actress Dilsha Prasannan. She carried home a prize money of INR 50 lakh.

Season 4 was not immune from controversy. A contestant, Dr. Robin Radhakrishnan, was expelled from the show for assaulting a fellow contestant Riyas.

The season ran for a total of 99 episodes, while the housemates were required to survive in the Bigg Boss house for 98 days. Number of housemates in this season stood at 21. Mohanlal continued as the host. Winner of this season was director Akhil Marar who bagged a prize money of INR 50 lakh.

Season 5 was rocked by multiple controversies. Chief among them being an incident involving caustic comments passed by Akhil Marar against his co-contestant Madhu, which fetched a withering condemnation from the host Mohanlal.

Bigg Boss Season 6 first premiered on 10th March 2024 and ended on 16th June 2024. The total number of episodes in this season was 99, while the housemates were required to survive 98 days in the Bigg Boss house. Number of contestants in this season was 25, with Mohanlal as the host. Bodybuilder Jinto Bodycraft emerged as the winner of this season, bagging a prize money of INR 50 lakh.

Season 6 witnessed a scuffle between two contestants, Asi Rocky and Sijo John on Day 16. Consequently, Asi Rocky was ejected from the show.

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 Winner (2025) – Anumol RS

Seventh and latest season of Bigg Boss Malayalam commenced on 3rd August 2025 and ended on 9th November 2025. This season had a total of 99 episodes, while the housemates were required to survive in Bigg Boss house for 98 days. Number of housemates in this season stood at 25. Television actress and anchor Anumol RS won this season and became the second female winner of the show. She won a prize money of INR 42.55 lakh.

Season 7 witnessed numerous controversies. They ranged from remarks against a contestant’s dressing style and homophobic comments to allegations of paid PR and vote manipulation.

Conclusion

Bigg Boss Malayalam has evolved over the years with more inclusive casting. It enjoys high popularity in Kerala and has performed better than other regional versions of Bigg Boss. Mohanlal continues to be the face of this show.
