Super Singer Junior is a long-running Tamil singing reality TV show meant for young contestants. Diverse children from various parts of Tamil Nadu audition in front of judges. They sing various songs and evidence vocal range and emotion and they demonstrate stage presence.
Over the years the format has changed, adding guest judges and celebrity music directors. The show airs on Vijay TV and is digitally aired on services such as Disney+ Hotstar, allowing viewers worldwide from all over the country to follow the episodes.
The contestants are judged by experienced playback singers and musicians. Voice trainers are for kids to improve their singing techniques. The competition progresses from initial rounds through to semi-finals and then the grand finale with winners being crowned.

Super Singer Junior Season 1 Winner – Krishnamoorthy

Season 1 began on 9 February 2007 and finished on 13 July 2007. Hosted by Chinmayi and had judges K. S. Chithra and Usha Uthup. Around 25 contestants had reached the main rounds following auditions. Krishnamoorthy won the title with good vocal performances. Vignesh was the runner-up. This season started the legacy of young singing talent in Tamil TV.
Super Singer Junior Season 2 Winner – Alka Ajith

Season 2 began on 21 June 2009 with children aged 6-14 years. The show had several hosts because of scheduling arrangements. K. S. Chithra, Mano and Malgudi Subha were the members of the judging panel. The grand prize was first specified as ₹25 lakh but later to include a villa to the tune of ₹25 lakh. Alka Ajith won the title with her excellent voice. This season featured a combination of folk and classical singing.
Super Singer Junior Season 3 Winner – Aajeedh Khalique
Season 3 premiered on the 17th of October 2011 and concluded on the 26th of October 2012. It was hosted by Makapa Anand, Kalyani Nair and Bhavana with judges K. S. Chithra, Mano and Malgudi Subha. Auditions were organized in Chennai, Coimbatore and Trichy. A R Rahman was there as special guest at the finale. Aajeedh Khalique won the title and was given a ₹60 lakh townhouse.
Super Singer Junior Season 4 Winner – Spoorthi Santosh Rao

Season 4 was aired from 31 March 2014 to 20 February 2015. It was hosted by Ma Ka Pa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande and had K. S. Chithra, Mano and Malgudi Subha as judges in which many talented singers performed. Spoorthi Santosh Rao won. The prize won by the winner was a ₹70 lakh townhouse. Jessica Judes was the runner-up who donated her gold prize to Sri Lankan Tamil orphanages. Actor Suriya commented on her gesture.
Super Singer Junior Season 5 Winner – Prithika

Season 5 was broadcast from 26 November 2016 to 17 June 2017. The show was hosted by Ma Ka Pa Anand, Priyanka Deshpande and Bhavana. The judges were still K. S. Chithra, Mano and Malgudi Subha. Prithika won the title as well as an apartment of the value of ₹40 lakh. Bavin was initially brought in second place, with the car prize. Gowri won second runner-up cash prize.
Super Singer Junior Season 6 Winner – Hrithik

Season 6 was aired from 20 October 2018 to 21 April 2019. Hosted by Ma Ka Pa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande were the judges Shankar Mahadevan, Kalpana Raghavendar, K. S. Chithra and S. P. Charan. Hrithik won the title. Suriya was the 1st runner up and Poovaiyar was the second runner up. The season featured a special SPB tribute round.
Super Singer Junior Season 7 Winner – (Cancelled)
Season 7 started from 22 February 2020 with the hosts Ma Ka Pa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande. Judges were Shankar Mahadevan, K. S. Chithra, Kalpana Raghavendar and Nakul. However, because of the Covid-19 lock down and safety concerns, the show was put on hold, and eventually cancelled with no winner.
Super Singer Junior Season 8 Winner – Krishaang

Season 8 premiered on 19 December 2021 and ended on 26 June 2022. Ma Ka Pa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande were the hosts, Myna Nandhini and KPY Kuraishi covered some of the time. The judging panel had Shankar Mahadevan, Kalpana Raghavendar, K. S. Chithra and S. P. Charan. Krishaang won this title from 20 finalists. This season, there were quite a few memorable performances and guest judges.
Super Singer Junior Season 9 Winner – V.M. Shreenitha

Season 9 was launched on 8 July 2023 and aired on Disney+ Hotstar on weekends. The show was hosted by Ma Ka Pa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande. The judges were K. S. Chithra, Anthony Daasan and S Thaman. This season had many guest singers, actors, and music directors who praised the young contestants. V.M. Shreenitha became the winner of the Title. This was the first time the final group included all female finalists.
Super Singer Junior Season 10 Winner – Gayathri
The 10th season premiered on 16 November 2024 and the grand finale was produced on 25 May 2025. The show was hosted by Makapa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande. The judging panel was K. S. Chithra, Mano and D. Imman. Gayathri, known to have a strong musical background and six generations of musicians in her family, won the title. Legendary guests Kamal Haasan and A. R. Rahman presented the awards at the finale.
